The OD Academy (and its owners, The Beechfield Partnership) are committed to protecting and preserving the privacy of our visitors when visiting our website and communicating with us.

How do we collect information?

The OD Academy (and The Beechfield Partnership) collects and processes data about you. This includes when:

  • information is collected from members to ensure you receive relevant information
  • you provide information to us by filling in your personal details on our website pages to become a member (www.odacademy.org.uk)
  • you sign up to receive email confirmations, newsletters and event booking confirmations
  • you complete surveys that we use for the benefit of member research
  • you pay for membership fees or any other products/services from OD Academy
  • you visit our website, leaving information about your computer and your visits
  • you contact us via phone, email, in person and when we keep your contact details as a result

The information is used to manage member access and offer you the option to subscribe to any of our member events. You may choose to opt-out of these at your discretion.

Financial Transactions from Membership Fees?

If you sign-up to membership, your card information is not held by us, it is collected by our third-party payment processor, Stripe, who specialise in the secure capture and processing of on-line debit/credit card transactions. If you have any questions regarding secure transactions, please contact us.

Payments made to the OD Academy, will be credited to The Beechfield Partnership’s business account. The Beechfield Partnership are legally responsible for the running and operation of the OD Academy.

NB. The Partners at The Beechfield Partnership have determined that a percentage of the post-tax profit from the fees will be used to pay selected people who financially were impacted by the forced closure of The Institute for Organisational Development.

How is your information used?

As a site visitor or member we may use your information:

  • to provide you with information relating to membership of the OD Academy, information related to our website, your membership, or the registration of events;
  • to provide you with information on other services that we feel may be of interest to you in line with those you have previously expressed an interest in via our website or events;
  • to seek your ideas, feedback or comments on the services we provide to you as a member;
  • for either member or internal purposes including statistical capture and analysis or survey purposes, site performance and evaluation to improve our website;
  • to administer your membership and this website;

NB. As a member we have obligations to ensure all our members receive certain information, including matters relating to use of personal data (under our GDPR Policy – see below) and governance.

We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as it is necessary for the relevant activity.

As an online membership subscription community, you are not required to sign a contract for access to the membership services provided. Your payment confirmation and amount determines that these services can be accessed for the duration of the cover to which your membership period relates.

Ongoing Contact with Members

As a member of the OD Academy, once you’ve signed up and paid your fees, you’ll continue to receive emails from us.

You can click unsubscribe at the bottom of these emails to stop receiving them, however, opting out of any promotional emails will not stop all communication from us.

Protecting and access to your information?

We will not sell, share or lease the personal information we collect about you with any third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so.

We are required to share some of your personal details with partners who act on our behalf to provide you with Member benefits. They will not use your details for marketing purposes.

We may use your personal information to send you promotional information about third parties which we think you may find interesting.

Security precautions in place to protect you and your information

When you give us personal information, we take steps to ensure that it’s treated securely on all our systems. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place dedicated electronic procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of the OD Academy website, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share your password with anyone.

You have a right to complain to the Information Commissioners Office if you believe there is a problem with the way the OD Academy (and its owners and operators) are handling your data.
