WHO WE ARE

We help OD professionals learn, grow and belong.

The OD Academy was founded and is owned by Steve Benfield and Madeleine Beech, who have a combined 60+ years of experience working both directly in the field of OD, as well as undertaking various management and leadership roles within the public, private and third sectors.

Their work has received UK and global recognition, including awards in OD Consultancy, awarded by Constantinus International.

Madeleine and Steve are also founders of The Beechfield Partnership.

The OD Academy was built to provide something the sector has needed for a long time – a professional home which recognises OD as a field in its own right.

Their vision is for the OD Academy to be an active and energetic online community hub – a welcoming and inclusive home for passionate OD people!

At the heart of the OD Academy is a clear purpose — to promote the art, science and practice of Organisation Development (OD).

Our work is delivered through four interconnected pillars, each championed by an Ambassador and supported by our Governance and Partnership framework. Together, they provide a balanced and credible structure for how we serve our members, strengthen the field and contribute to the wider OD community.

The pillars ensure that everything we do is purposeful, relevant and grounded in real OD practice. They connect practitioners, support development, enable inquiry and help give voice to the issues shaping our profession today.
